Sales of zero-kilometer cars in Brazil showed significant growth in the first quarter of 2024.
According to data from Fenabrave, there was an increase of 10.66% compared to the same period last year, with 483,303 units sold at dealerships.
Pickup trucks and light commercial vehicles led the growth with an increase of 17.22%, while the car segment grew by 8.93%.
Volkswagen stood out in this quarterly comparison, with the Polo model leading sales with 26,580 units sold in the quarter.
The Fiat Strada, which was the leader last year, is now in second place with 26,580 units sold in the first three months of the year. The Fiat Argo remains strong, but with 18,053 units.
The scenario points to a change among the best-selling brands. Fiat, despite maintaining its leadership, lost 1.1% in the first quarter of 2024 compared to 2023, with 22.1% of the market.
Volkswagen, which was the third brand, is now second with 15.9% of the market share.
The automotive aesthetics market is also growing every year. In 2021, automotive service franchises earned more than R$6.5 billion, 8.9% more than in the same period of the previous year.
Demand has been driven mainly by the greater care that owners take with their vehicles and also by the increase in sales of used vehicles.
The sector is expected to continue growing throughout the year. Fenabrave’s forecast is that sales of 0km cars will close December up 12% on the 12 months of 2023.
